Care and Maintenance
A Sheepskin coat given normal wear should not be cleaned for at least 5 years. Although cleaning can improve the appearance of a soiled garment, it cannot restore it to new condition. Then have it cleaned only by a specialist cleaner as a last resort.
Although we use only good quality skins, no tanner will guarantee woolskins to be 100% dye fast and some colour loss may be apparent.
Inevitably you will pick up some marks, some of which can be removed by a specialist pad, but for more stubborn soiling we recommend Orkin ‘Swade Aid’, which is available in most towns.
When your garment is not in use, keep on a strong shaped coat hanger. Please do not hang up by the hook in the collar. This overtime will misshapen the coat. If the coat gets wet, dry in a normal temperature. DO NOT dry by direct heat. When dry, remove any rain spotting by rubbing down with a piece of foam rubber. DO NOT attempt this when wet.
Customers who continually wear the garment unbuttoned causing the edges to roll, cannot expect the manufacturer to be held responsible for this problem. Our garments are made to be buttoned up.
Grease spotting can be reduced by an early application of Magnesium Carbonate powder generously applied and left for 24 hours then brushed off.
If your Nursey coat ever need alterations or renovating this can be carried out, with clear instructions as to what is required, during the Spring & Summer, but not in our busy winter high season (July-January).
It is the manufacturer’s greatest desire to see you get the best possible comfort and value from this garment which has been carefully made by the most experienced workroom staff to be found in the industry. The company has been manufacturing leather and sheepskin products for over 5 generations in Bungay, Suffolk UK.
